Childbirth in Japan

Tokyo here we come! We were in Japan in October and amazing does not begin to describe how much we enjoyed the country, people, and the food. We're headed back in April 2011 for a Childbirth Educator training workshop and a Doula Labor Support training workshop.

Always wanted to help pregnant women?

Need a new source of income?

This might be the right opportunity for you!

Register for the ICEA Doula and Labor Support Training Workshop and in six months you could be a certified Doula getting paid to make a difference in the lives of families.

The steps are simple. No complicated forms to complete.

1. Complete the required reading list
2. Verify attendance at an ICEA Doula and Labor Support Workshop
3. Complete six ICEA alternate contact hour program tests (provided by ICEA)
4. Audit at least one childbirth education or postpartum series taught by another educator
5. Verify three labor support or postpartum support experiences
6. Submit certification materials within one year of enrolling in the program

Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

We are set to begin a new program in 2010 combining childbirth education with prenatal yoga.

Body Awareness Birth™ Yoga Educator and Mother Support™ Specialist

This training will help birth professionals meet the diverse changing needs of the new generation who are not likely to sit in a classroom environment for six weeks to learn about the birth process.

Prenatal yoga reaches a newer mom who wants to maintain an active lifestyle, but also be safe during her pregnancy. The Body Awareness Birth Institute workshop will allow educators to guide women to a mind-body connection discovering the inner strength they hold to give birth. A unique benefit of our workshop, the educator is prepared to provide Doula or Mother Support™ for the pregnant women, adding additional services for their prenatal yoga students. Midwifery Program

Imagine all the possibilities if we had more midwives! Midwives are low cost. They use few interventions, yet provide high quality and empowering maternity care, helping women transition into motherhood.

I wish all women could know how wonderful the care of a midwife is. Midwife-to-Be offers a wonderful opportunity to become a midwife through an online course and gain experience through trips to the Dominican Republic.

There are many pathways to become a midwife. This program is not expensive and may be a good fit for you.
